Job Title:Financial Management Consultant

Location:Fresno, CA (Hybrid/On-site)

Reports To:CEO

Overview:

We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Financial Management Consultant to streamline and optimize our financial reporting processes, tax planning, and ERP system effectiveness (Famous). The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in agricultural finance and operations, with a proven track record of supporting large-scale farming businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Evaluate and redesign financial reporting workflows to improve accuracy, timeliness, and decision-making.
• Develop customized dashboards and KPIs for real-time financial insights.
• Implement benchmarking strategies using industry standards and internal performance metrics1.

2. Tax Strategy & Compliance

• Conduct a full review of current tax planning strategies and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations specific to agribusiness.
• Collaborate with external tax advisors and internal stakeholders to prepare for audits and filings1.

3. ERP System Optimization (Famous)

• Assess current usage of Famous ERP and identify gaps in functionality, data integration, and user adoption.
• Recommend and implement system enhancements or training programs to improve operational efficiency.
• Align ERP outputs with financial reporting and forecasting needs.

4. Cost Allocation & Profitability Analysis

• Break down variable and fixed costs across crops, equipment, and labor.
• Identify underperforming assets or operations and recommend corrective actions2.
• Support strategic decisions on land use, equipment investment, and crop selection.

5. Strategic Financial Planning

• Develop multi-year financial plans aligned with business growth and succession goals.
• Advise on capital expenditures, ROI analysis, and funding strategies.
• Support M&A evaluations and post-integration financial planning if applicable3.

6. Operational & Advisory Support

• Provide hands-on consulting to department leads on budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
• Facilitate financial training sessions for staff to build internal capabilities1.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team on all financial matters.

• Monthly financial performance dashboards
• Annual strategic financial plan
• Cost allocation model and profitability analysis
• Staff training materials and session reports

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
• CPA or CFA preferred
• 5+ years of experience in financial consulting, preferably in agriculture or manufacturing
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Famous preferred), QuickBooks, Excel, and financial modeling tools
• Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
