The Operations & Logistics Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day warehouse operations, logistics (inbound containers and outbound trucks), and supply chain coordination across Electrosteel USA’s facilities. This role is critical in ensuring timely customer deliveries, efficient inventory management, and cost-effective transport planning while maintaining high safety and compliance standards. The position requires hands-on management, strong process discipline, and a deep understanding of industrial piping or infrastructure logistics.

Operations & Yard Management

• Lead day-to-day operations at Savannah and oversee coordination with Stockton yard team.
• Supervise local receiving, stacking, order picking, packing, and dispatch of ductile iron pipes and fittings.
• Implement and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to yard operations, safety, loading, and FIFO systems.
• Ensure job cards, fabrication instructions, and cutting/banding operations are executed as per specifications.

Logistics & Distribution

• Plan and manage daily dispatches across the East Coast and West Coast delivery zones.
• Coordinate full-truckload (FTL), LTL, flatbed dispatches, balancing cost and delivery timelines.
• Liaise with freight brokers, transporters, and 3PL partners for optimal load planning and freight negotiations.
• Monitor real-time tracking of high-value or urgent shipments, troubleshoot delays, and ensure proof of delivery (POD) documentation.

Inventory Control & Coordination

• Maintain accurate inventory records in SAP B1, including GRPO, bin transfers, stock transfers, and returns.
• Lead cycle counts, quarterly physical stock checks, and year-end audits with finance coordination.
• Maintain item traceability and ensure bin-wise accuracy, especially for fittings and fabricated components.

Vendor, Fabrication & Material Handling Oversight

• Oversee forklift operations, consumables, packing materials, and lifting gear upkeep.
• Coordinate and manage yard operatives for banding, painting, stenciling, or pipe repair jobs.
• Ensure all equipment (cranes, forklifts, banding tools) meet OSHA and in-house compliance protocols.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Support inside sales and order processing teams with realistic delivery timelines and load planning.
• Coordinate with the Executive Director on yard CAPEX, vendor evaluations, and freight rate policies.
• Serve as the point-of-contact for internal dispatch team and external freight queries.

Key Skills and Attributes:

• Deep understanding of industrial piping or construction logistics
• Hands-on knowledge of dispatch planning, DOT/FMC regulations, and multi-yard coordination
• Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably SAP Business One – HANA version)
• Strong leadership, people management, and troubleshooting skills
• Attention to detail in documentation, safety, and material movement
• Ability to work across time zones and coordinate with India-based supply chain when needed
