Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Extern plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Working under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs), you will assist with various basic patient care services and help maintain a safe and organized care environment. Candidates should be enrolled and in good standing in an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to diverse patient populations.
• Communicate important information accurately to the healthcare team.
• Deliver compassionate, comprehensive care while upholding patient dignity.
• Document patient care effectively using the appropriate systems.
• Assist assigned patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Enroll in an accredited RN nursing program.
• Completion of the first nursing semester or certification as a CNA.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training required within 30 days of employment.
