The main objective of this position is to ensure compliance with all the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (DOT/FMSCR). The Safety & Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring vehicle maintenance of DOT required compliance records are well kept and audit ready.

Basic Responsibilities:
• Maintain Driver files (Registration, inspections, medical cards and CDL's)
• Ensure driver logs and maintenance reports are completed properly and submitted.
• Set agenda and assist with safety meetings.
• Maintain record on all vehicle accidents and Motor Vehicle Accident Register for all DOT recordable accidents.
• Report accurately and in a timely manner all vehicle accidents to corporate office.
• Implement safety policies and procedures.
• Assist in accident and incident investigations and reports
• Send safety topics out to drivers for continued training.
• Process new driver files including previous employment records, drug testing, MVR and PSP reports.
• Request roadside inspection reports from the State and address with drivers.
• P.O.C with Insurance Companies

Required Experience:
• Associate degree or 2 plus years' experience within the field of commercial trucking/transportation (Construction based transportation experience a plus)
• Previous DOT Auditing experience required.
• Knowledge and understanding of DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Bilingual a plus
