Job Description

The VA North Texas Health Care System - Dallas - Texas is currently recruiting for a Nuclear Medicine Physician capable of providing advanced molecular imaging, nuclear cardiology, and theranostics clinical care.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Currently employed physicians in VA who met the requirements at their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements.

Basic Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited.
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved medical school.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S. or its territories.
  • Residency training approved by the VA, leading to eligibility for board certification, in an accredited core specialty program.
  • Residents enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited programs are eligible as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), who must be fully licensed but only appointed on an intermittent or fee basis.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Physical requirements include moderate lifting, carrying, pushing, reaching, use of fingers, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and good vision and hearing.

Duties

The Nuclear Medicine Physician will provide services at VA North Texas Health Care System, including Dallas VA Medical Center and Fort Worth Outpatient Clinic. Responsibilities include providing a wide range of nuclear medicine procedures, including routine and non-routine exams, molecular imaging, nuclear therapy, and nuclear cardiology. The role involves performing and interpreting various imaging studies, contributing to patient management, and possibly participating in research and teaching activities.

Work Schedule and Benefits
